Frequently Asked Questions
Is a doctor referral required?
Doctor referrals are not required. However, in addition to self-referrals, we are happy to accept referrals from doctors and other health care professionals through our online referral system. See “Make a Referral”. If you are interested in our services and are referring yourself or your child, you can book a free discovery call with our team here.
Is support offered virtually?
Yes! Our services are exclusively offered virtually. Counselling sessions are conducted through secure video conferencing (Jane video software) or phone call.
How do I join the video call?
You will receive an e-mail with the video link prior to your appointment. We suggest using google chrome on a desktop for best results. More information here: https://jane.app/guide/telehealth/how-to-join-your-online-appointment-for-patients.
If you are having trouble connecting to the video - don’t sweat it, we will call the number you have on file to help you troubleshoot.
What is your appointment reservation policy?
Your appointment time is reserved just for you. To secure your appointment we require a valid credit card number to hold your appointment. Your credit card number will be stored in our secure credit card vault hosted by our online system Jane which is secure and encrypted. Your appointment is not fully booked in our system until we have a credit card on file. Your credit card will not be charged until the time of your appointment, and if you choose to use an alternate form of payment you can do so. We accept credit and e-transfer.
What is your cancellation policy?
A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the dietitians' day that could have been filled by another client. As such, we require 24 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Patients who provide less than 24 hours notice, or miss their appointment, may be charged 50% of the appointment cost, applied to the credit card on file. We accept e-mail cancellations.
Looking for an e-mail from us?
Double-check your junk mail, depending on your security settings new e-mails from our team may get lost in your junk mail. We recommend adding us as safe senders to prevent this from happening.
Why packages?

What is a Registered Dietitian?
Registered Dietitians are experts in nutrition and are considered the most reputable source for nutrition information. Dietitians can provide both general nutrition education and medical nutrition therapy (ex. for medical conditions such as celiac disease and IBS). Registered Dietitians are the only regulated nutrition professionals in Canada; Registered Dietitian (RD) is a protected title under the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO). To become a dietitian, you must complete an accredited undergraduate degree in nutritional science, an accredited dietetic internship program and pass the Canadian Dietetics Registration Exam (CDRE).
Are Registered Dietitians covered by OHIP? Private health insurance?
Registered Dietitians in private practice are not covered by OHIP in Ontario, Canada. You may be able to access a Registered Dietitian if you belong to a family health team that has a dietitian on their team. Our services are eligible for private insurance coverage and a detailed receipt is provided following every session which can be submitted for reimbursement. We recommend checking with your insurance provider to see if you or your child are covered!

Yes! Sarah, focuses exclusively on adult nutrition. Sarah works with adults for perinatal support, prediabetes and digestive health conditions.
Do you provide support for individuals with eating disorders?
